For a kid’s haircut, the first step is always making sure they’re comfortable and excited about the experience. We take a moment to chat with the child, maybe ask about their favorite cartoons or colors, to make them feel at ease in the chair. Then, I’ll talk with the parent to understand what style they’re looking for—whether it’s a simple trim or something more trendy, like a fade or a fun, textured style.
Throughout the haircut, I keep the atmosphere light and fun, with little breaks if the child needs them. I always make sure the cut is practical—easy for the parent to maintain, but also something the child feels confident wearing. Once we are done, we give them a mirror to check it out, and make sure they’re all smiles before they hop out of the chair.
